Since introducing Implantable Collamer Lens surgery to BGSS in 2002, Dr. Lee has become one of the most recognized ICL surgeons and educators in Asia.
Vertical placement for stability
Developed with Dr. Je-Myung Lee, the V-Toric technique places toric lenses vertically so gravity helps keep them aligned, reducing rotation — an alternative to upsizing lenses. Published in PLOS ONE (2024).
Korea's first presbyopia ICL
Dr. Lee performed Korea's first Viva ICL surgery in 2023, offering patients in their mid-40s and beyond near, intermediate and distance vision while preserving the natural eye structure.
Training the next generation
BGSS is the official EVO ICL Training Center for the Asia-Pacific region, where Dr. Lee personally leads programs spanning diagnosis, live surgery and post-operative care.
